Vicar's Message...

Dear St. Thomas family,

I greet you all in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I am delighted and grateful to be a part of this family fellowship. I thank the Lord Almighty for enabling our family to become co-travelers with you all. It has been two months that we are experiencing God’s abundant grace through the fellowship of the church members.

I take this opportunity to express my condolences and prayers to the family of Rev. Anup Mathew and to our Church member Mr. Jinu V. Thomas and family. I convey my greetings to the newly added little one, Zakk Samuel, and the newly wedded Prakash Thomas Varghese and Sherin Benny. May the good Lord bless them in the coming days.

We experience God’s providence in these days of pandemic. Many of us are undergoing struggles and many kinds of sufferings; those who are lonely are facing more struggles. This pandemic situation has brought us to a new lifestyle, which may be difficult to cope with. Luke 24:13-35 tells about a God who is a co-traveler. We see Jesus’ intervention among the confused state of the disciples, when they had gone lonely and kept aside. Here we see a God who is taking care of their needs.

Dear people of God, we have only Him, to be trusted upon. Let’s prolong our faith journey with Him. His continuous presence is an assurance of sustenance; which strengthens each and every believer. This divine presence is a healing presence; which brings healing to painful situations of life.

As a Church, we could take part in the sufferings of the people in and outside the Church. I appreciate our Sevika Sanghom members for taking initiative to feed the hungry; in and around Kharghar. May this be an inspiration for the entire church community in the coming days. I also take this time to appreciate the Church Managing Committee for taking initiative in distributing food grocery kits, and also visiting three social welfare institutions nearby. This is how we witness the Lord in and around our society. Hope and pray that these humble initiatives will augment the social work/mission wing of our Church.

I appreciate everyone for participating in the online worship on every Sunday and Saturday. We could start a bible study session for the Sevika Sanghom and discussion forum for the Youth members. The Sunday school team is doing a wonderful job in taking care of our children. Let all our organizations function well and be fruitful for the community.

Our people are very keen in offering their monthly tithes and subscriptions to sustain the Church and also to repay our debts. Appreciations to everyone who are giving interest free loans to repay our debts.

I take this opportunity to thankfully remember the enormous and tremendous hard work of our dear Rev. Sajeev Koshy Achen and family. This Church will always remember their hard work and struggles in constructing this beautiful temple of Lord. I believe and pray that I will be able to continue his visions and dreams about our community. I request all our Church members to keep me and family in their prayers. May the good Lord enable us to lead our church in the coming days.

With love and prayers,

Rev. Pratheesh B. Joseph
